In Guinea, poor waste management remains a severe challenge. Friends of Nature aims to improve waste management practices and influence the development and enforcement of sound environmental policies.
Our approach leverages the experiences of affected communities to address the environmental challenges they face. By engaging women and young people in activities such as waste management and tree nursery projects, we aim to empower them while mitigating and adapting to the effects of climate change in Guinea.
We are a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) and a not-for-profit environmental and educational organisation dedicated to addressing critical social and environmental issues related to climate change. We offer solutions for Poor waste management and Environmental policies and social accountability.
We combine unwavering ethical standards with creative problem-solving, ensuring that our innovative approaches are rooted in honesty, transparency, and a commitment to doing what is right for the environment and the community.
We ensure diverse participation and representation in our initiatives, engaging women and youth and valuing every voice.
We commit to practices that promote long-term environmental health and resource optimization.
Guinea faces huge poor waste management especially that of plastic. We help solve this by educating community members on the effects of plastic on the environment. We also conduct regular community and beach clean-up activities to help curb this problem.
Our programming involves putting the country's NDC's into play, and ensuring citizens are aware of the environmental policies and that there is transparency and accountability from all stakeholders. Youth meaningful engagement and participation in environmental issues: As a youth organization our programmes are centred on youth and ensuring their full participation in environmental issues at both local, national and global levels. We believe in the power that youths have in influencing and creating positive change.
We understand that women and children are usually the most affected by climate change, we therefore provide community mentorship programmes for them so that they can identify pressing environmental issues in their community and help create change. We empower the children through our school eco-green club programmes as we believe in the power of young people accessing information at a young age so they can contribute to a sustainable environment for all.

Friends of Nature is inspired by the climate change and environmental challenges that Guinea is
